Internet Marketing: Identify Under-Performing Web Pages
|
This page provides charts that
identify possible poor page behaviour. Poor page behaviour is simply that an entry
page is not getting the desired conversion ratio when compared with the performance of other entry pages.
Once pages are identified as under performing go to the Tuning
web page performance for increased conversions section for information
on improving and tracking the page performance.
|
The top 20 entry pages are show together with the conversion count and conversion ratios.
This graph tells you where to concentrate your attention. Ideally your highest traffic
pages should have the highest number of conversions. The shape of the graph of conversions (green) should follow
the same pattern as that for entry sessions (blue), that is each higher entry should be less. If it is not then
a web page is not performing adequately.
Also, initially the top five traffic pages should be selected for content tuning. By content tuning we
mean trying differently structured and worded pages and increasing their effectiveness at gaining
conversions. There is a complete section on web page content tuning measurement and tracking. Once
this has been done you will also have minimum conversion ratio targets for all pages.
In the following section select a page to see its behaviour.
